Winter 2007
Summer 2006
-
This past spring Tess and I
moved into our new home in Tenafly, NJ. We have
been busy working very hard to get settled and
comfortable.
- In July I attended a two
day course entitled "The Resistance Training Specialist;
Practical." The very informative course taught attendees
how to objectively evaluate strength training exercises
for their appropriateness based
on individual biomechanics.
-
In August I successfully
completed two home based DVD courses on preventing ACL
injuries, and Hamstring injuries. Both courses were by
Gary Gray, a leading physical therapist specializing in
the functional training approach.
- This summer happily
marked my 10th year in business.

will surprise you.

The
"Performance Training for the Older Adult" course was given
again this past October at Fuel Fitness in Cresskill. Video
was added to the presentation showing the attendees
demonstrations of deep squatting, dumbbell Olympic lifting,
unstable pushouts, and explosive kettlebell drills all
performed by current clients aging between 61- 81.
Summer 2005
August is anniversary month at Bazzini Fitness. Back in
August 1996 I left behind a good job and started Bazzini
Fitness with a handful of clients.
August 1st marked the release of my new web site design!
Clients and athletes of Bazzini Fitness may notice some
subtle training changes in their workouts this summer. I
decided to forgo traveling to various fitness conferences
and instead invest the balance of the continuing education
budget ($1000) into educational DVD's from Gary Gray, the
modern day father of functional training and rehab. The 25+
volume set of DVD's covers all aspects of functional
training principles. I have begun to implement some of
Gary's teaching principles with favorable results.
Spring
2005
This
past June I gave a four hour lecture entitled "Performance
Training for the Older Adult." The course was approved for 4
credit hours of continuing education from the National
Strength and Conditioning Association. The PowerPoint
presentation consisted of over 40 slides of pictures of some
of my clients exercising, senior fitness statistics, and the
research findings. The course received favorable evaluations
and will be given again in October 2005.
This spring I am happy to unveil the new Bazzini Fitness
logo. Featuring a large barbell with three plates on each
end, it is a design inspired by my philosophy that weight
lifting is an extremely important component of a total
fitness training program. Designed by Robert Finley. |
